Two arrested for shooting on Delong St
CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Chattanooga Police Investigators have arrested two suspect wanted in a shooting incident Monday night at 3311 Delong Street.
Officers spotted the suspect just after 4 PM, Tuesday, at 3116 Chambliss Street and attempted to apprehend him.
As the suspect, Tobias Pruitt, saw police he turned to run but turned back around and fired at the officers. Two officers exchanged gunfire with Pruitt before he threw down his weapon and surrendered. Neither Pruitt nor the officers were shot in the exchange.
Police were looking for Pruitt and Rodney Martin, who had warrants for aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
Edrick Smith told police that he'd been in a confrontation with Martin at a party yesterday over liquor. Smith left the party and went home. A short time later, Smith said he went outside and saw Martin and Pruitt outside with a gas can. When the pair saw Smith they began shooting at him. Smith was able to duck down behind a vehicle in the yard until Martin and Pruitt fled the scene.
Martin turned himself in to investigators shortly after Pruitt was taken into custody. Both Pruitt and Martin will be arrested on the outstanding warrants for aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment.
Pruitt will face additional charges in Tuesday's shooting incident on Chambliss St.
