CRANDALL, MURRAY COUNTY (WRCB) - The Georgia Forestry Department is working a small fire near the Chattahoochee Forest, north of Crandall.
It began just before 6:00 p.m. Monday when lightning struck the area.
As of now, there is only one acre burning, but officials say it could grow because of the location of the fire. The terrain is rather steep and getting equipment to the scene is difficult for firefighters.
A forestry official says this is a "low impact" fire and there is no danger to the surrounding area.
