Online voting for Ga. car tag contest ends Friday
ATLANTA (AP) - Georgians have less than a week to choose next year's theme for the state license plate.
Hundreds of people submitted designs for the tag the state will begin issuing next year, which all had to include the "Peach State" theme. The contest was sponsored by the state Department of Revenue. Online voting on the eight semi-finalists began June 24 and ends Friday.
Revenue Commissioner Doug MacGinnitie, Gov. Nathan Deal and Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle will select the winning design from the top three vote-getters and announce the winner July 15.
The winning artist will get his photo taken with the three state officials and receive a commemorative license plate.
