UPDATE: Deadlines approaching to register for FEMA aid

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- The deadline for storm survivors to apply for federal aid is coming up quick.

People in Georgia affected by the April 27th tornadoes have until June 28th to apply with FEMA.

In Alabama, the deadline Monday, July 18.

Tennessee leaders filed for an extensions, so the deadline to file for assistance is August 9th.

Many of the FEMA offices have closed, you can still register and apply by calling 800-621-FEMA or logging on to disasterassistance.gov.
