Final debris pick-up day announced for NE Alabama

Posted: Updated:

FORT PAYNE, DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WRCB) – Officials in DeKalb and Jackson counties in Alabama have announced the final days for debris pick-up.

The Army Corps of Engineers will begin their final cleanup phase in Northeast Alabama on June 27 and run through July 3.

Residents are asked to pile stumps, limbs, trees and construction debris in the right-of-way on their property. Utility crews are reminding residents to avoid piling debris near the orange or green makers in your yard, as these markers are used to guide utility crews.

The Army Corps of Engineers will not pick up electronics, appliances, household cleaners, paints, trash, oil or batteries.

No debris should be left in the right-of-way after July 3.
