5 restaurants cited in beer bust
CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)—Chattanooga Police say five downtown restaurants were cited for selling alcohol to underage customers.
Police Sergeant Jerri Weary says two underage people were sent by into 12 restaurants with instructions from police to order alcoholic beverages.
Weary says the following restaurants were cited for selling to the underage customers: Chili's, Easy Bistro, Qdoba, Rio Picante, and Sweet Peppers Deli.
Applebee's, Big Chill, Big River Grille, Mellow Mushroom, Sing It or Wing It, Sugar's Ribs, and Taco Mac all refused to sell to the buyers after checking their IDs, according to Weary.
Those accused of the violation will appear before the Beer Board at a later date.
