3 suspects arrested for Cherokee County crime spree

CHEROKEE COUNTY, NC. (WRCB)—Three suspects were arrested in Cherokee County on multiple theft-related charges.

Sheriff Keith Lovin says 22-year-old Richard M. Gilbert and 30-year-old Heather Ann Dockery were picked up by police on June 13th at a motel in the Murphy area. Both are accused of breaking and entering several homes during a crime spree that began in October of 2010.

Gilbert and Dockery are currently being held at the Cherokee County Jail on numerous charges of larceny, breaking and entering, and injury to real property.

A third suspect, 17-year-old Dennis Devin Dockery, was a arrested a few days later in connection with the crimes.

He's being held at the Cherokee County Detention Facility on charges of misdemeanor breaking and entering and injury to real property.

All three are scheduled for court in July.
