UTC student dies on Greece trip
CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - A University of Tennessee at Chattanooga student has died while on a school trip to Greece.
According to UTC, 30-year-old Brooke Winslett died as a result of "unexpected medical conditions" in Athens, Greece.
In a statement sent to UTC faculty, staff and students, the schools said Winslett's mother was traveling to Greece to aid in the investigation into her daughter's death.
Dr. Nancy Badger, the chaperone for the trip will remain in Athens to help the family.
An autopsy is being performed on Winslett by authorities in Greece.

Brooke Winslett, a UTC student, passed away in Athens, Greece, on Saturday, June 18, during a trip to Rome and Greece.
Rebecca Brooke Winslett was born on March 28, 1981. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Gene Winslett and William R. "Bob" Griffith. She is survived by her parents, Joe and Belinda Griffith Winslett; sister, Ali, brother, Joey; grandmother, Rebecca Betty Jo Boyd Griffith; all of Chattanooga and grandmother, Dorothy Winslett of Birmingham; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who drew inspiration from her life and joy from her presence.
Brooke was a lifelong learner and student of history and literature. She attended Soddy-Daisy High School, Chattanooga State, as well as UTC.
