Posted: Updated:

APISON, HAMILTON COUNTY, TN (WRCB)- Hamilton County is continuing brush pickup for the Apison area.

Residents still clearing wood and brush from their property, after the tornado, are asked to call the Highway Department to let them know you have brush ready to be picked up. The number to call for brush pickup is 855-6100.

"It is readily apparent this cleanup will continue to go on for months. Our residents need help and government services the people, so we will continue this cleanup effort for the foreseeable future because it is the right thing to do," says Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger.

Coppinger visited the Apison area last week.

Harold Austin with the Hamilton County Highway Department asks residents to move only storm related brush to their right of way prior to calling to schedule the pickup.

"Please no tires, stumps, or logs larger than 24" inches by 10' feet long," says Austin.

Once the department has several locations in need of pickup they'll schedule a day for pickup from those locations.
