CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) – Chattanooga's newest fire station is set for construction.

Fire Station 3 will be located on Cummings Highway and, along with Station 20, will primarily serve the Lookout Valley area.

Station 3 will cost approximately $1.3 million to build, but officials say it is very much needed.

The station will be staffed with 15 firefighters.

The building will be LEED certified and meets the requirements set forth in the annexation plan.

Completion of the project is expected to take approximately six months.
