CLEVELAND, BRADLEY COUNTY (WRCB) - Two men have been arrested after deputies say they stole an air conditioner from a storm-damaged home.

Deputies were alerted by a neighbor who called 911after watching the men load an air conditioning unit into the back of a pickup truck on Eastview Terrace.

Deputies responding to the call spotted a truck on Inman Street matching the vehicle description given by the witness. In the back of the truck, deputies say they saw a window air conditioner later identified as the one that had been stolen. The owner reported the unit was beside the house when it was taken Monday morning.

The occupants of the truck, Jeff Blair, 49, and Jerry Jones, 44, both of northeast 8th Street, were taken into custody for theft under $500 and not wearing a seatbelt. Blair was also charged with driving on a suspended license and not having insurance on the vehicle.

Deputies say the air conditioner was returned to the owner.
