CHATTANOOGA. (WRCB)-- A home in the Eagle Bluff community was destroyed after catching fire Saturday afternoon.
Dispatch says reports of a fully engulfed home on Players Court came in around 1:10 pm.
Hamilton County EMS spokesperson Amy Maxwell says the Highway 58 Fire Department worked to put out the flames, but required assistance from four other agencies due to the heat.
Maxwell says firefighters had a tough time reaching fire pockets created from the collapse of the second story. Low water pressure from a nearby hydrant also made things more difficult.
In all, Maxwell says it took three hours to completely extinguish the flames.
The homeowners were out of town and no one was injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
