CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Chattanooga's new visitor's center is open. It's new location, in the Bijou Theatre lobby,  is in a prime spot to help guide tourists.

The center not only offers information, but tickets and hospitality.

Bob Doak, CEO of Chattanooga Convention and Visitors Bureau, says the new center will attract more people.

"This being on the first floor, we believe will give us the ability to provide better service to the visitors to let them know exactly what's going on in Chattanooga and hopefully they'll stay longer and spend the night or stay three nights as a result of it," says Doak.

Doak says since the visitors center opened in 1993, the area has seen an economic increase of 175 percent.  He expects that number to rise.

The Visitors Center relocated to make way for the Chattanooga History Center.

The Visitors Center is open daily from 8:30 am- 5:30 pm (Closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Days). For more information, visit or call 800-322-3344.
