EAST RIDGE, HAMILTON COUNTY (WRCB) – An East Ridge man is facing attempted murder charges after a fight with his girlfriend led to gunfire.

Officers were called to and apartment at 2 Frawley Road on reports of a disorder with a weapon.

Police say Daniel Jett, 21, of East Ridge, had been arguing with his girlfriend.

During the investigation, officers say the found evidence that Jett had hit his girlfriend's car multiple times with a baseball bat.

The victim told officers that Jett told her to leave the house. She said that while gathering some personal items, Jett allegedly yelled "Ya'll want to see how crazy I can get?"

At that point, the victim told police that her mother told her to run from the home.

The victim tells officers that as she ran from the apartment towards the woods, she heard eight to ten gunshots.

Police say they were able to recover a .22 caliber handgun from the apartment.

Jett is charged with attempted murder, domestic vandalism, tampering with evidence, and felon in possession of a firearm.

Investigators say Jett has multiple felony convictions in Georgia.

Jett is being held on $175,000 bond and is scheduled to be in East Ridge Municipal Court on Tuesday, May 24th at 5pm.
