CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - We will not see much in the way of thunderstorms today, but ones that DO develop through the early afternoon will have the potential to be strong to severe.

The best chance of storms will be north of Chattanooga where a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH has been issued for Rhea, Meigs, Sequatchie, McMinn and Bledsoe Counties until 2pm.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a SLIGHT risk of severe weather for the watch areas.

During the late afternoon/evening hours we will actually see more calm weather and clearing skies moving in.

The general rule for today is...the further north you are, the better your chance for a storm or two.

In North Georgia and Northeast Alabama, I would doubt you would even see any rain today at all.

We have several ways to keep you informed. Updated Watches and Warnings will scroll on the screen throughout the day. You can track and zoom the rain right to your neighborhood on the iRadar.
