EAST RIDGE, TN. (WRCB)-- An East Ridge man faces attempted murder charges after an argument ends with a cocked pistol in the victim's mouth.

The incident happened Friday on Barry Road shortly after 5:00 pm.

Police say John Gilbert Walston hit Robert Mosier multiple times with a pistol he pulled during an argument.

Walston then allegedly shoved the gun in Mosier's mouth and cocked the hammer back.

Officers arrived a short time later to find the victim with several cuts from the gun to his head and face, along with a broken tooth.

During a search of the home, investigators found a blood-stained holster and .38 caliber revolver that matched Mosier's description.

The victim was taken to Parkridge Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police arrested 35-year-old Walston and charged him with attempted murder and tampering with evidence.

Due to a prior felony record he was also charged with felon in possession of a firearm.

The suspect is being held on a $63,000 bond.
