WEDNESDAY, MAY 18th 4:30 pm
WETUMPKA, ELMORE COUNTY, AL (WRCB) - Eyewitness News has learned authorities in two states are now looking for 44 year-old Gail Palmgren.
The Elmore County Sheriff's Office confirms they are working with Signal Mountain Police on the case. Signal Mountain investigators made the call last week to request assistance.
The day before she went missing, Gail reportedly visited the family's lake house on Lake Jordan, near Montgomery, Alabama. She had her two children with her.
According to police reports, obtained by Channel 3, Gail traveled to the lake house after a dispute with her husband, Matthew.
Although she was last seen on Signal Mountain, Alabama dispatchers are putting Gail's information out over the emergency waves.
Patrol officers have checked the lake house, and found nothing.
Gail's car has not been seen in the area either, but Elmore County officials say they will continue to patrol the neighborhood.
UPDATED: TUESDAY, MAY 17th 6 pm
SIGNAL MOUNTAIN, HAMILTON COUNTY, TN (WRCB) – The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is assisting in the search for a missing Signal Mountain mother.
At a news conference this afternoon, a representative of the Sheriff's Office said two detectives are aiding the Signal Mountain Police in the search for Gail Palmgren.
The spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office said Palmgren's disappearance is still being treated as a missing person investigation and that there are no suspects at this time.
The Sheriff's Office says there have been reports of possible sightings of Palmgren's Jeep Rubicon in Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama, but none of the sightings have been substantiated or confirmed.
Also at the news conference today were Gail's husband, Matthew Palmgren and Gail's sister, Diane Nichols.
Nichols gave a tearful plea asking for anyone with information on the location of Palmgren to contact the Signal Mountain Police.
"Please, she has got two little kids at home that miss their mommy," said Nichols, "please help me find my sister."
Matthew Palmgren also made a statement asking for the public's help. He also spoke to his wife directly.
"Gail, if you hear us please come forward," said Matthew Palmgren, adding that the couple's children loved their mother.
Eyewitness News asked Matthew Palmgren why he waited until today before going public. His attorney advised him against answering the question.
Palmgren did say he has hired a private investigator to look for Gail.
"We've done everything in our power to find Gail," he said, "we've hired a private investigator, we've continued to look, we are doing everything we can."
Gail Palmgren has been missing since April 30, when a neighbor saw her drive away from her home in her 2010 Jeep Rubicon. Palmgren's Alabama license plate reads "EAZY ST".
Public records indicated that Gail's husband filed for a legal separation and custody of the couple's two children a week after she went missing.
Records also show that Signal Mountain Police had been called to the Palmgren home on a disturbance call a day before Gail Palmgren vanished.
Matthew Palmgren's attorney confirms he has been placed on administrative leave from his job at Blue Cross, Blue Shield in connection to his wife's disappearance.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Gail Palmgren or who may have spotted Palmgren's Jeep are asked to call the Signal Mountain Police Department at 423-886-2123 or your local law enforcement agency.
