Big Hearts Build in the national spotlight
CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - After seven days of working around the clock in February, thousands from our community saw the "Big Hearts Build" in the national spotlight Sunday night.
The Sharrock family from Rossville, hundreds from the project, along with those who just wanted to join in all gathered at the Metropolitan Tabernacle on Shepherd Road to watch the season finale of ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition filmed in the Tennessee Valley.
The host and designers added their thoughts on the show's season finale via Twitter.
"Gotta say just being in Chattanooga with all the southern hospitality was so nice because it was like coming home," said host Ty Pennington on Twitter. "Actually I was home because … I grew up about 90 min down the road."
"Chattanooga you were more than amazing! You guys know what it is to volunteer and help change a life," tweets designer Leigh Anne Tuohy.
"Thanks again to everyone who gave their time and their heart to this project," Pennington adds. "Chattanooga you guys are the greatest!"
The Sharrock family says two months after the bus was moved, their lives are changed for the better each day.
Cindy Sharrock tells us the family has been volunteering a great deal since the tornadoes struck last month.
She says she wants to help anyone in need, especially after so many were so good to her family.
