DECORAH, IA (NBC/WRCB) After days of anticipation, a third baby eagle has broken through its shell 80 feet up in a Cottonwood tree in Iowa.

A crack in the third egg was revealed late Wednesday afternoon when one of the two eagle parents, got up to stretch.  

A few hours later, the shell split open.
The eagle web-cam in Decorah, Iowa has been watched online for weeks by people from all over the world.   

The first bird hatched in the early morning hours on April 2nd, the second hatched the next day.

The parent eagles have been together for four years and have successfully hatched eaglets every year.

Their nest is almost six-feet across and weighs about one-and-a-half tons. Click here to watch the eagle family.
