SIGNAL MOUNTAIN, HAMILTON COUNTY (WRCB) - A driver is being taken to the hospital after running off the road.

According to officers, the driver of a white Toyota Corolla lost control of his vehicle while reaching for his cell phone.

The vehicle left the roadway on Highway 127 and was suspended upside down in the trees on the mountainside.

Signal Mountain Police and Chattanooga traffic investigators are still working to determine all the details of the crash.

The male driver was the only occupant of the vehicle. He was taken to Erlanger Medical Center for observation, but officers at the scene say he "will be fine."

Drivers are advised to use the W Road as a detour until the scene is cleared and the car can be removed from the trees.
