JASPER, Tenn. (AP) - A teenager has testified she was in a pickup truck seated between an accused shooter and a man fatally shot in the head before his body was shoved out and left on a rural roadside in southeastern Tennessee.
The 17-year-old testified Wednesday at a preliminary hearing in the Feb. 7 slaying of 50-year-old Kenneth Hudson in Marion County.
The teenager said she was seated between Hudson and 26-year-old Jarrod Pickett, who is charged with criminal homicide.
From testimony at the hearing, the Chattanooga Times Free Press reports the teen said Pickett and Hudson argued about Hudson refusing to take them to an auto repair shop.
Pickett's appointed attorney did not return a Thursday telephone message seeking comment.
The preliminary hearing is to resume Friday.
