WALKER COUNTY, GA. (WRCB)-- Eyewitness News has learned the identities of the two Florida students, who died in Ellison's Cave in Walker County.
The bodies of 20-year-old Grant Lockenbach and 18-year-old Michael Wayne Pirie were found Saturday night.
This is video last night on pigeon mountain as investigators searched for the cavers.
Officials say Lockenbach became tangled in a rope and Pirie tried to help, but his efforts were unsuccessful.
The men were part of a group of 10 from the University of Florida.
Lockenbach and Pirie became separated from the group when Lockenbach lost his backpack.
Officials say the two students were not dressed for cold weather.
The unofficial cause of death is hypothermia, but the bodies of the two men have been sent to Atlanta for final determination.
