Meigs High teacher resigns amid allegations

Posted: Updated:

DECATUR, MEIGS COUNTY (WRCB) – The Meigs County School Board says a teacher allegedly involved with a student has resigned.

According to school officials, Dave Mason, a Meigs County High School teacher and baseball coach, allegedly involved in "improper conduct with an 18-year-old student."

On Thursday Mason submitted his resignation to the Meigs County Director of Schools.

The school board says it is closing its investigation into Mason. Because the student involved was 18-year-old, no criminal charges are expected.
