JASPER, TN. (WRCB) -- A developing story out of Marion County. The sheriff's office named a suspect in a murder Tuesday.
According to Sheriff Bo Burnett deputies and TBI are looking for 26-year-old Jarrod Pickett. Pickett is Officially named a suspect in the murder of Kenneth Hudson. A mail carrier found Hudson's body MOnday off Shellmound Rd. Hudson's family is stunned because just hours earlier, Hudson was watching the Super Bowl.
"We were a small family," says sister-in-law Cheri Hudson. "Everybody knew who the 3 Hudson boys were. Now we're down to one."
Steve Hudson and his family are still in shock after learning what happened to his younger brother Monday morning.
"Bad choices with some of the people he befriended," says Cheri. "He was a good person, good heart."
The 50-year-old grew up in Jasper. Family members say he was well known and owned several businesses around town over the years.
"He's not a drinker," says Mandy Peddy. "He doesn't come in to drink he just comes in to get a good bite to eat and sit here. He's a really nice person."
Mandy Peddy works at Sandy's Lunch Box Bar and says Hudson was watching the Super Bowl there most of the day Sunday.
"He's always been a nice person," Peddy says. "Good to everyone who works here."
Hudson's body was found by a mail carrier before noon Monday on Shellmound Rd miles away from his home. Pieces of crime scene tape are still tied to tree branches in the secluded spot where Hudson's body was found. Which is a big part of the mystery for family.
"It baffles us," Cheri says. "We don't see a logical reason for him to have been there that time of the morning. He usually wasn't out and about that early."
The family says they're trusting law enforcement to find out who and why this happened to their loved one.
