CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)-- The man charged in a fatal snake bite investigation, was booked in the jail Monday.
Wildlife agents charged Chuck Hurd with 48-counts last week involving illegal possession of reptiles.
He was released on his own recognizance, and appeared before Judge Christie Sell.
She set his bond at $10,000, and Hurd was taken to jail.
Last weekend, Wade Westbrook was bitten by a copperhead snake and died from anaphylactic shock.
Hurd told Eyewitness News, he did not give the snake to Westbrook, as accused by Wildlife agents.
It happened shortly after 8 p.m. on McCutcheon Road near Lee Highway.
