Chattanooga native builds for Extreme Makeover in SC

BLUFFTON, SC. (WRCB)-- With over 4,000 volunteers signed up for the Big Hearts build, it seems the Chattanooga's spirit of giving goes beyond state lines.

Another Tennessee Valley connection has been made to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

A Chattanooga-native just finished a build for the show in Beaufort, South Carolina.

Todd Hawk owns a construction company there called H2 Builders, but he grew up in Hixson.

Hawk says it was a long, exhausting week of work, but the smiles on the faces of the family that moved into their new home made it all worth it.

"I won't lie. It's a long exhausting week of hard work with tons of daily challenges and very little sleep, but when you see the smiles on the faces of the family when they move that bus you feel like a million bucks. I just want to wish the people of Chattanooga the best of luck with their build. It's the experience of a lifetime," said Hawk.

Construction on the Chattanooga home will begin February 14th.
