CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) – TDOT will shut down the Market Street bridge in Chattanooga Sunday for inspections.

TDOT crews will close the bridge to traffic on Sunday morning starting at 8:00 a.m. for a quarterly inspection.

Motorists can use the Olgiati Bridge or the Veterans Bridge as detours. Pedestrians will still be able to use the Walnut Street Bridge.

The bridge is expected to be reopened by noon Sunday.

Originally built in 1917, the Chief John Ross Bridge connects Chattanooga's Downtown with the North Shore District. The bridge was closed in 2005 for renovations and reopened in 2007.
