CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Motorcyclist is injuried in a single vehicle accident.

Investigators with the Chattanooga Police Department's Traffic Division closed two lanes of traffic, around 6:00 pm Wednesday, while investigating a single motorcycle crash in the 100 block of Highway 27 South.

Evidence at the scene showed that the motorcycle rider, Christopher Hancock, age 23, attempted to negotiate the curve as he approached the 4th Street exit and lost control of his Honda CBR 600.

He struck the concrete traffic barrier and was thrown from the motorcycle.

Mr. Hancock was transported to Erlanger Hospital with what was initially thought to be severe injuries, but investigator say he will likely be released tonight.

No charges will be filed in this case.
