CLEVELAND, BRADLEY COUNTY (WRCB) -  Deputies have arrested a man they say ran away when they attempted to serve him a warrant.

Officials say 22-year-old Wesley Scott ran as deputies were serving him a warrant for failure to appear at the Bradley County Judicial Building in Cleveland.

Scott ran into a nearby construction supply yard. Witnesses say as many as 30 officers and deputies chased the man into the yard.

When asked by Eyewitness News why he ran, Scott said "I ran because I'm a crack baby fugitive."

Officers found Scott when he tried to get into a daycare. Authorities arrested him and a woman who was waiting with a getaway car.

Scott never made it inside the daycare. The kids were unharmed. Staff a little rattled but commend the parent who called 911.

The parent that reported Scott told Eyewitness News, "he wasn't going in that daycare, over my dead body, my grandson was in there."
