CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- The college football version of Christmas took the country by storm Wednesday as college and high schools across the country stepped into the spotlight for National Signing Day.
Starting Wednesday morning and continuing into the night, Channel 3 Eyewitness Sports traveled across the Tennessee Valley as the area's top high school prospects signed national letters of intent with their future schools.
Five local seniors signed with Football Bowl Subdivision programs, including three Southeastern Conference recruits. At least nine more signed with Football Championship Subdivision schools, including three of University of Tennessee at Chattanooga commitments.
Among the Mocs commitments is Baylor QB Jacob Huesman, son of Mocs Head Coach Russ Huesman. When asked about his son's letter of intent, Coach Huesman said, "As you know he is my son. He chose to come here because he loves the city and hopefully he loves me."
