CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)-- More than 1,800 of our neighbors have volunteered to help with the "Big Hearts Makeover" building project.

The chosen Chattanooga family will be announced next month and officials with the project are looking forward to helping.

"I was excited," says Jennifer Hoff. "This gave our community the opportunity to give back to a family in need."

Jennifer Hoff says volunteering for the "Big Hearts Makeover" project is just as meaningful to her as the new home will be to the deserving family.

In just four days, thousands of volunteers have dedicated themselves to helping out, including Chattz Coffee owner Eileen Mason.

"This project came and we thought, great project, great coffee, perfect fit," says Mason.

Mason, plans to dishes out about 6,000 cups of coffee during makeover week.  She says the project will be some of the more meaningful cups she'll hand out.

And her story is similar to Kelli Smith's, with Vision Homes.

Her group is responsible for building the home.

She says it's been an overwhelming response from the public to pitch in and help the family set to receive the house.

"Providing their food services, construction material, and it has been amazing outpour of support from the community," says Smith.

Of course, with any project this large, you will always have hungry mouths.

Amanda Varnell says she saw this as an opportunity to let her food services business shine.

She's thankful to provide meals for the workers, but more grateful for the thousands that have reached out to help.

"The fact this has come together in a short amount of time is miraculous," says Varnell.

Hoff, excited and ready to work, says this project only exemplifies the helping nature of the Chattanooga community.

"There are a lot of families that can use this kind of transformation," says Hoff.

A pep-rally is scheduled for this coming Thursday at the Chattanoogan Hotel.

Construction is expected to start February 13th and the reveal will be on the 19th.
