CHATTANOOGA (WRCB ) – Police are looking for a man they say shot a person in a dispute outside a local nightclub.

According to police, Cordirrus Jones, also known as Cordirrus Birt, shot 28-year-old Derrick Lewis outside Terry's Lounge at 4010 Rossville Boulevard.

Lewis originally told police he was shot in a drive-by, but later changed his story, telling officers the incident took place outside the nightclub.

According to Lewis's statement, he and Jones had gotten into a dispute inside Terry's Lounge. Lewis left the building and Jones followed him outside, producing a handgun, police say.

That's when investigators say Jones shot Lewis in the buttock as he attempted to run for cover.

Lewis was driven to Erlanger Hospital around 2:00 a.m. and treated for the gunshot wound.

Warrants have been taken out against Cordirrus Jones for attempted first degree murder and aggravated assault.
