UPDATED: Police arrest attempted murder suspect
CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)-- An attempted murder suspect is behind bars, after police say she hit a woman with her car.
According to police, 24-year-old Jacqueline Jones was arrested Friday.
Chattanooga Police tell Eyewitness News that 22-year-old Lawanda Franklin was in a verbal fight with Laquilla Lloyd Thursday afternoon on West 12th Street.
After the fight, Lloyd then got into a maroon SUV driven by Jones.
Witnesses at the scene told police that before leaving, Jones drove over a curb into a grassy area and ran over Franklin.
Officers arrived at the scene to find Franklin on the ground unresponsive.
She was transported to Erlanger for treatment and is in fair condition.
Jacqueline Jones is charged with attempted first degree murder and aggravated assault.
