CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Some Chattanooga Police Officers may be allowed to take home their patrol cars, free of charge.
Tuesday night, the City Council voted to ask city leaders to come up with a plan to keep some police take-home vehicles on the road.
The resolution would pay for those officers who live within the city to keep their take-home cars.
The other part of the resolution would allow officers who live in the county to pay only their way to the city line.
Starting Thursday, city leaders are requiring officer to park their cars in three designated lots; one on Amnicola Highway, one on 11th Street, And another on Main Street.
