CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Owners of a retail shop for cooks say they can't believe the nerve of a customer who stole hundreds of dollars in merchandise right under their noses. It was caught on tape, they're hoping someone will recognize her.

"You can see in the video, she took one of and one of these," says Josh Ingle of Mia Crucial.

Small kitchen appliances worth about $250 but it wasn't only a high end blender and mixer the suspect swiped. The owners of Mia Cucina say it was about $600 in goodies or more.

"We've had small things happen here but nothing like that I'm knowledgeable of," says Ingle.

Ingle was working that day, it was an open house during the holidays, so everyone was working.

"After she stole the goods she did, she went back into the kitchen and talked to the owner," says Ingle.

It was the owner who noticed the shelves of this area were bare, sure enough, they went straight to the surveillance video and found this.

"She kinda started putting stuff in bag…If you watch you can still see here sorting and I'm right there," says Ingle.

Ingle says the woman was brazen enough to leave the store, unload the stolen items and come back in. They say she was mingling with the staff and drinking their wine.

"She went on and on about how much she loved the store...and we see why now," says Ingle.

Ingle says since the thief, they have learned to keep a sharp eye. He says they didn't wish for it. Now they're hoping someone's eye is sharp enough to identify this woman.

"We enjoy our customers so much it keeps us alive, it's hard to sit and assume one of them might have been a thief," says Ingle.

If you know who the woman is you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 698-3333. Your call is confidential and could earn you a cash reward.
