CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) – Chattanooga officials say they have spent $116.50 per mile of city so far.
Crews working in 12 hour shifts since 6:00 p.m. Sunday to keep major roadways passable.
The bulk of the costs comes from the 1872 tons of salt and sand used on the roads, totaling $100,898.26.
The city has also spent $15,994.45 on the 79,200 gallons of brine.
The city adds that they have already accrued 978.25 hours of overtime, costing $22,906.19.
Last year the drought meant more grains and less movement from the turkeys. In 2016 they were heavier, but also had more fat.
