CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Chattanooga police officers were checking on folks across town to see if anyone was stuck inside without necessities.

Lt. Brian Cotter and his son were knocking on door in east Chattanooga Monday checking to see if they could help with anything like food delivery or even to pick up a prescription. Though most were doing well, it was evident, they were grateful for the visit.

Doris Strong says, "I loved it, I didn't think people cared that much about us but found out they do,  I really appreciate it."

Mildred Jones says, "It makes ya feel good baby, when you're old somebody don't always think about it."

Chattanooga police check on the elderly in the East Lake community monthly.  If you're shut in and need police call 698-2525.
