Memorial Auditorium is in the running for $250,000

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) – A Chattanooga landmark is in the running for a sizeable grant from Pepsi.

The Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium is in the running for $250,000.

Chattanooga's Department of Education, Arts and Culture is competing for a Pepsi Refresh Grant. It's the top grant category available from Pepsi.

"We encourage our youth, our veterans, our military families, and the entire community to ‘get out the vote' and show our support and our gratitude to those who have served our community and our country," says EAC Administrator Missy Crutchfield.

The money would go toward revitalization efforts at Memorial Auditorium.

"Our goal is to revitalize our facility to function as Chattanooga's veterans' park and performing arts center and this grant would be a great complement to our other efforts," says Crutchfield.

The grant is vote-driven, so city leaders are encouraging you to vote.

You can vote through January 31st.
