MONTEAGLE MOUNTAIN, MARION COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -- State road crews are keeping a close eye on the stretch of Interstate where a rockslide happened, over the weekend.

The slide happened Christmas Day, on I-24, near Monteagle Mountain.

500 tons of rock fell about 60 feet into an area deigned to catch debris.

A few boulders hit the interstate, causing three cars to crash. No one was hurt in the incident.

Geological technicians are examining the site to make sure it remains stable.
