Monteagle to be assessed following rock slide
MARION COUNTY, TN. (WRCB)-- Tuesday, geological technicians will be assessing the stability of a rock out-cropping on Monteagle Mountain, after a rock slide dumped almost 500-tons of debris beside Interstate 24 Christmas Day.
Most of the rocks landed in a containment area built after previous slides.
T-DOT spokesperson Jennifer Flynn says a few rocks bounced over the retaining wall but were removed by maintenance crews.
No injuries were reported.
