ST. ELMO (WRCB) - Christmas started early for a St. Elmo grandmother who's been struggling through this winter without a heater.

Loretta Morris was using her oven to heat her home on St. Elmo Avenue until she met Kristin Scott. Scott was visiting Morris to talk about insurance, but left with something else on her mind,  making Morris' house warmer.

Scott says, "She's been on my heart and mind ever since I met her I was concerned about her.  It's good to help somebody."

Morris says,  "When God steps in, he steps in, I feel like that's what he did this time."

Thursday Scott and her family delivered a kerosene heater to Morris, along with Christmas goodies and some gifts for her grandchildren.  Morris says no one has ever done anything for her so kind. She says she's blessed.
