Search warrant served on Bradley Co commissioner

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (AP) - Bradley County investigators have served a search warrant at the business and home of a county commissioner who owns a flea market.

The Cleveland Daily Banner reports that the search warrant was served Wednesday at the home and business of county commissioner Howard Thompson.

Thompson has not been charged.

Assistant District Attorney Stephen Hatchett said the investigation involves a claim made by a man during a traffic stop earlier this month, that he had stolen merchandise he intended to sell to Thompson.

Hatchett said details of the search warrant are sealed.

Thompson's attorney, Jimmy Logan, told the newspaper that the commissioner is fully cooperating in any pending investigation.

Logan said Thursday that investigators confiscated some hand tools, two chain saw blades and perfume.
