CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- A teen charged in the brutal murder of a pastor will stay at the juvenile detention center, for now.

A transfer hearing for Brendan Barnes was delayed Thursday, so his attorney can gather more evidence.

A judge pushed back the hearing to January 6th.

Barnes and his cousin, Antonio Henry, are charged in the beating and stabbing of Pastor David Strong.

At a preliminary hearing, an detective testified that Henry admitted prior visits to Strong's home to perform sex acts for money.
