Crime Stoppers: Police seeking crime spree suspect
CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)-- The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department are asking for your help in locating a man wanted on several warrants following a 2007 crime spree.
Police say 45-year-old Howard Eugene Cheaves, Jr. broke into a car at the Battlefield Parkway Bi-Lo and stole a wallet.
Cheaves used the victim's credit cards in Chattanooga, making over $1800 in charges at several locations.
The suspect has been using the name Jimmy Brogdon, the identity of his deceased step-brother, to sell scrap gold at pawn shops.
Cheaves is a white male, 6'1", approximately 285 lbs., with brown hair, blue eyes and usually wears a beard.
His last known address is 35 Fantasy Lane in Rossville, GA, but he has also used the address of 4912 13th Avenue.
Howard Cheaves is wanted on numerous charges, which include passing worthless checks, theft under $500, identity theft, theft of property and burglary of an auto.
