UPDATE 7:45AM 11/24/10

Traffic on Interstate 75 is flowing smoothly after being at a standstill for much of the night.
Late Tuesday night after a tractor trailer rear-ended a van and jackknifed on the north bound side of Interstate 75 around 8:30 at mile marker 349 near the Ringgold, Georgia exit.
  The Georgia State Patrol tells us five people were taken to the hospital. Their injuries aren't considered life-threatening.
  The big rig was leaking fuel which made the cleanup longer and to make matters worse, there were several small accidents in the area, caused by rubber-neckers.



UPDATE 10:30pm-- One lane is now open.

RINGGOLD, CATOOSA COUNTY, GA (WRCB) -- Police are on scene of a jack-knifed tractor trailer on I-75 at mile marker 349 in Ringgold.

According to Georgia State Patrol it is a wreck involving a tractor trailer and a van. Five people from the van have been transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer is fine.

The tractor trailer has been moved to the left lanes. Crews are still on scene handing gas leaking from the tractor trailer.

The call came in around 8:30pm Tuesday night.

No word on what caused the wreck or when crews expect to have everything cleaned up.
