CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Retail giant Walmart is stepping up to help the Chattanooga-Area Food Bank feed thousands of clients each month.

Thursday, the department store chain donated a nearly $90,000 refrigerated truck to the food bank.

It's larger than the rest of the trucks in the organizations fleet.

Organizers say it will help them do their service to the community more efficiently.

"We would send out two or three trucks, two or three times a day. And now we have one truck that can do the job of two trucks that are going out daily," says Tonya Gentry with the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.

Walmart began donating to the Chattanooga-Area Food Bank last year.

They've donated more than 1.4 million pounds of food so far this year.
