Family safe after fire rips through home

HARRISON, HAMILTON COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -- A Harrison family is safe after fire ripped through their house.

The fire started around 1 P.M. Tuesday, at a house on Dolly Pond Rd. By the time fire crews got on scene flames were shooting from the roof.

According to Danny Wright, Assistant Fire Chief with the Highway 58 Fire Department, the fire started in a bathroom and moved up the side of the house into the roof. With the fast winds the fire spread rapidly.

The homeowner were home at the time but made it out of the house safely.

The Highway 58 Fire Department was assisted by the Tri-Community Fire Department, Meigs County Fire, and Bradley County Fire.
