LIVELINES: LUNG CALLS
Smokers who quit can expect to live as many as ten years longer than those who continue to light up.. That's why The American Cancer Society is encouraging smokers to take part in the Great American Smokeout this Thursday and make a plan to kick the habit.
Dr. Mike Czarnecki was our guest this morning. He says it takes most smokers an average of three times trying to quit before they are successful. He also said in some cases he thinks the proposed new graphic labels on packages will make a difference. And when it comes to reasons to kick the habit there are several..
Reasons to stop smoking..
-Most preventable form of death
-Leads to premature birth
-High health care costs from smoking related illness
