FORT OGLETHORPE, CATOOSA COUNTY (WRCB) -  The nine-time cancer survivor who biked from Chattanooga to Memphis to raise money for St. Jude Children's Hospital has died.

Samantha Gilley died Wednesday at T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital in Chattanooga.

She was 21.

Gilley overcame the cancer that left her blind and partially deaf to complete a 400 mile bike ride across Tennessee to raise money for St. Jude.

Gilley completed the ride in November of 2007, raising over $50,000 for the hospital.

Samantha had been fighting cancer since she was six-months old when she was diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma, an aggressive form of cancer that eventually took her sight.  Complications from the disease gave Samantha a less than 10% chance of survival and required her to undergo years of treatment at St. Jude and various other hospitals around the country.  Samantha would eventually be diagnosed with cancer at least nine different times.

Since her bike ride in October 2007, Samantha had moved into an apartment and was engaged to be married at the end of November.
