VW announces new facility for additional 120 jobs

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- The final production trials for the "new mid-sized sedan" are underway. VW officials say the entire project is on track.
On Thursday, Volkswagen's plant manager told Channel 3 Eyewitness News about the announced an additional facility in Chattanooga that will create 120 new jobs. Workers in the new facility will be responsible for installing extras like spoilers and fog lights.
Although it was announced for the first time this week, officials say it's been in the works from the very beginning.
The new midsize sedan, still without an official name, will be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in January. The car will go on the market in the second half of 2011.
On Tuesday, Channel 3 Eyewitness and the Times Free Press obtained new "spy photos" of the car in test trials in Nevada. Click here to see the images.
